About Us,

Penguin Pre-School opened in 1993 and offers Sessional Day Care.

It operates from two rooms in a building adjoining the Newtown Methodist Church on
Northgate Street in Great Yarmouth. A maximum of 36 children may attend the
playgroup at any one time. The playgroup is open each week day during term
time, from 09:00 to 11:30 and from 12:30 to 15:00. There is access to an
enclosed outside play area.

There are currently 50 children aged from 2.5 years to school age on roll.
Of these 35 children receive funding for nursery education. Children come
from a wide catchments area. The playgroup supports children with special
educational needs, those with English as an additional language, basically
we attract children/families from all walks of life and so have quite a
cosmopolitan atmosphere.

The playgroup employs 6 staff. Four of the staff, including the manager,
hold appropriate early years qualifications. The staff update their qualifications by going on courses and work shops. All staff are CRB checked and four staff have a first aid certificates and two have food hygiene certificates.
